FSC: The Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) monitors the use of timber in paper and board based products, ensuring that material used is coming from areas of forest that are managed responsibly. The FSC Chain of Custody certification tracks the FSC certified material through the production processes all the way to the store.
PEFC: The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
The ISO9001 quality management standard is enhanced with the addition of the PS9000 pharmaceutical packaging materials standard.
With regard to personnel, the OHSAS 18001 ensures the required level of health and safety is observed throughout the business, whilst the "Investors in People" accreditation helps to provide a continued focus on staff training and development.
ISO14001 specifies the requirements for an organisation's environmental management system, and by obtaining this internationally recognised standard Benson Group ensures that green issues are always kept in focus.
BRC/IOP: The British Retail Consortium / Institute of Packaging (BRC/IOP) Global Standard for Packaging has been developed jointly, and sets out hygiene and quality requirements for packaging manufacturers. Benson Group has been certified within category B, for providers of food contact goods.
IIP: Investors in People provides a framework to help a business find the most suitable means for achieving success through its people.
ISO12647/2 Colour Management: Benson Group is currently working towards attaining the BPIF's ISO12647/2 colour management standard, with the Benson Box plant at Bardon, Leicester being the first to go through the process. Full details of our Colour Quality Policy can be found here.
The BPIF Certification scheme defines a certified organisation to ISO12647/2 as operating a colour quality and production management system, to ensure that, where required, products are compliant with ISO12647/2
