Benson Group Announces Food Packaging Acquisition

Benson Group, based in Bardon, Leicestershire, the Packaging Company of the Year for 2008, has announced details of the acquisition of the order book and various trading assets of Cameron Linn, a food packaging company based in Glasgow. Benson Group finalised arrangements for the purchase with the liquidator on Wednesday 17th December.

Cameron Linn had a turnover in excess of £8.5 million in the food sector, supplying Marks & Spencer's as well as other major retailers and food producers.

Commenting on the news, Mark Kerridge, Managing Director of the Benson Group, said: "Unfortunately Cameron Linn has been a victim of the current severe economic climate. The business had gone into liquidation, and we have stepped-in to be able to help current customers and employees of the business. We will ensure that all existing orders currently in-hand at the factory are completed and delivered in a timely fashion. Food packaging is a core business of the Benson Group, and we believe that our expertise will prove to be an invaluable aid to the existing customers of Cameron Linn".
