Benson Helps Launch Nut Free Cakes Across UK

Benson Group, one of the UK's leading privately owned carton printers, with headquarters in Bardon, Leicestershire, is helping launch a range of nut free celebration cakes in the UK.

The Benson Group is supplying packaging to Welsh cake manufacturer The Just Love Food Company for its range of birthday cakes designed for children with nut allergies in mind.

Launching in April with cakes in 200 Sainsbury's stores nationwide, The Just Love Food Company was set up by Mike Woods after struggling to find suitable birthday cakes on the market for his two children with nut allergies.

Mike Woods, managing director of The Just Love Food Company said: "Since my children were diagnosed with severe nut allergies in 2001, I have struggled to find suitable food products on the market dedicated to nut allergy sufferers. My wife and I found it particularly difficult when it came to sourcing birthday cakes as all supermarket birthday cakes carry warnings that make the products "not suitable for nut allergy sufferers". Faced with this ongoing battle and equipped with over 20 years experience in the food industry, I decided last year that it was time to put it right. The Just Love Food Company has been set up to provide a food solution to nut allergy sufferers.

Selected from suppliers across the UK, Benson Group has been chosen by The Just Love Food Company due to its credentials in the food packaging industry, and its reputation and experience in the celebration cake market in particular. "The team at Benson Group were able to work closely with us to ensure that we ended up with the packaging that we needed for our products," said Mike Woods. "From original samples through to handling our final alterations to the product they were excellent to work with."
