Food and Pharma Cartons at Interpack
May 2011
See Benson Group at interpack, May 12 to 18: hall 7.1, stand A40
Benson Group, one of the UK's leading privately owned carton printers, has announced details of its exhibit at Europe's largest packaging show, Interpack, Dusseldorf, Germany, taking place from May 12 to 18, 2011.
The Benson Group exhibition stand will be located in hall 7.1, stand A40 at Interpack. The business operates out of four UK production sites and focuses on the manufacture of cartons for both the food and pharmaceutical industries for customers in the UK and throughout Europe.
Pharmaceutical packaging production within the Benson Group can produce three core packaging elements from one single production site. The company's Crewe, Cheshire, factory is now able to produce carton, label and leaflet work, meaning just one site inspection and co-ordinated packaging deliveries to customers. The business already manages pan-European production for household pharmaceutical names, in addition to a wide range of UK-based healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.
Benson Group is also using the Interpack show to announce its involvement in a new business that offers a breakthrough in recyclable packaging, Split-it Ltd. The product is the result of collaboration between Benson Group and French packaging machinery business, Mecapack. The new company has announced the creation of an environmentally friendly and efficient alternative to the polypropylene and, ultimately, the C-pet ready-meal tray (see separate press release). Split-it will feature alongside the other packaging capabilities of Benson Group on stand A40, in hall 7.1.
The company's attendance at Interpack is further evidence that the £110 million turnover business is seeking further print and production contracts for packaging work from across Europe. Commenting on the company's capabilities, Mark Kerridge, Managing Director of Benson Group, said: "As a business we continue to invest in the very latest production equipment and in the latest processes in order to maintain efficiency and grow our production capacity. Our focus on food packaging production has been about providing quality carton products to the major retail businesses. The opportunity offered by Interpack is for us to meet with European based suppliers of frozen and ambient product to food supermarkets."
Benson Group was recently acknowledged by "Europe's 500" as one of the fastest growing businesses when measured against all competition from across the continent. Company Chairman Andrew Benson attended a special awards ceremony in Brussels where former German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, presented a certificate in recognition of this achievement.
