Quality Food Awards: Benson Group Present the Trophies
November 2011
Benson Group, one of the UK's leading privately owned carton printers, were delighted to take the role of headline sponsor, presenting the awards at the 2011 Quality Food Awards, held on the evening of Thursday November 10th, 2011, at the prestigious Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London.
The Quality Food Awards are the most sought after awards for food and drink products on sale in UK grocery outlets. A large part of this is due to the transparency and robustness of the judging process, rightly regarded as the most rigorous in the industry. The integrity of this process lies at the very heart of the prestige attributed to winning a Quality Food Award.
Whilst a wide range of awards were presented at the 2011 gala evening, which took place at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel, two of the very top awards were scooped by Tesco products. The Gold Christmas / Seasonal award was won by Tesco Finest Mini Kilner Pate Selection, produced by Kavli Limited, whilst the "big one" - the Gold Q award - was presented to Futura Foods UK for its production of Tesco Finest Greek Yogurt. Group Sales Director of Benson Group, David Devenport, was on hand to deliver the prizes.
The judging panels for the awards comprised of chefs, chef lecturers, home economists, food photographers, food writers, food technologists and regional food groups, who all bring their extensive knowledge and expertise to the judging debate. The packaging experts at Benson Group were also involved. The Quality Food Awards are unique in that they reward great tasting food products with the finest of flavours, textures and aromas. They reward nutritious products with the best ingredients' lists, and they recognise innovation, great packaging and presentation.
Commenting on another successful awards event, Helen Lyons, Publisher at Metropolis Business Media, the organiser of the event, said of the involvement of Benson Group as sponsor: "Packaging is an integral part of the success of a product and we were delighted to be working with Benson Group as our new headline sponsor this year. In addition to this new partnership, we are also introducing a new packaging award, in collaboration with our sister magazine, Packaging News. This award is intended to recognise the vitally important role that packaging plays in the success of a product."
