Benson Group at Own Label Awards Ceremony

Benson Group, headquartered in Bardon, Leicestershire, featured in the sponsorship of the 2009 Own Label Excellence Awards staged and presented by The Grocer magazine on May 12th 2009. The event took place at the delightful Hurlingham Club in London.
The awards, presented not just to celebrate excellence but, as the editor of The Grocer, Adam Leyland, explained in his introductory speech, to also celebrate economy in these cost-conscious times, highlighted the very best in food quality and presentation of own label products.
"This was a tremendous way of celebrating everything that is good about own label food products," said Mark Kerridge, Managing Director of Benson Group. "The Hurlingham Club was also a very pleasant environment to meet up with a good number of our customers, and discuss the industry in general."
Greg Wallace of TV's MasterChef fame gave an entertaining after-lunch speech before handing out the awards to the winning entries. Greg had also been involved in the judging process.
Benson Group's sponsorship extended to the provision of after-lunch chocolates for all guests, which were presented in a cardboard wrap produced at the company's Leicestershire site featuring the awards logo on the outside, and a Benson Group promotion on the inside.
Environmental issues have to be at the top of the agenda for the customer and for the packaging producer. At Benson Group we believe that cartonboard represents the most environmentally friendly form of packaging available for both food and pharmaceutical product.
