In order to achieve the very highest standards in printed packaging production Benson Group employs the very latest modern litho printing equipment within its pharmaceutical packaging production plant, capable of handling a wide range of substrates of up to B1 in format, at speeds of up to 16,000 sheets per hour. Presses are equipped to print with UV inks and coatings.
Precision engineered equipment delivering up to 6-colour print comes from the world's leading printing press manufacturers, including products from Komori and Heidelberg. These market leading presses are equipped to provide short make-ready times and maximum speed.
Pharmaceutical packaging printing utilises two B1 format and two B2 format Komori presses for printing the cardboard elements of the pack design, offering flexibility with regard to sheet size. For leaflet printing Medica Packaging employs two B2 format Heidelberg presses, as well as a reel-to-reel web fed Myakoshi press for longer runs.
Manufacturing control procedures at Benson Group regularly monitor the performance of each press, measuring the number of make-readies carried out, the number of sheets printed, and the average printing speeds of the presses.
